Getting to Split – Flights from the UK to Split
Flight time from the UK to Split is between two and two and a half hours, depending on where you are flying from.
Croatia Airlines has flights in summer from London Gatwick and a new year-round service from London Heathrow. They also have a route from Dublin.
British Airways flies from London Heathrow and London City airports to Split.
Easyjet has daily flights from London Gatwick to Split. They also have flights from London Luton, Bristol, Manchester and Glasgow.
Ryanair flies from Dublin to Split.
Wizzair has daily flights from London Luton to Split, June to mid-September.
TUI has twice-weekly flights from both London Gatwick and Manchester.
Jet2.com have flights from London Stansted, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds Bradford and Edinburgh to Split.

Getting to Split by Ferry from Europe
There are year-round ferries from Ancona in Italy, with a higher frequency of ferries in the summer months, run by Jadrolinija.
SNAV operate ferries on the same Ancona to Split route from the end of April to early October.
Getting to Split by Bus from Europe
There are regular bus services from, amongst other cities, Munich and Trieste to Split. See the Split Bus Terminal website for timetable details.
Getting to Split by Train from Europe
It is possible to travel by train to Split from elsewhere in Europe, although the majority of routes involve a change of trains at Zagreb. You are best to check the Die Bahn website for timetable details.
There is a direct train during the summer months from Budapest to Split.
Getting to Split from elsewhere in Croatia
Flights
There are numerous daily flights from Zagreb to Split (flight time 45 minutes) that operate year-round, and tickets aren’t as expensive as you might think – see the Croatia Airlines website. There are also a few flights a week from Dubrovnik (flight time 35 minutes) and Rijeka (50 minutes).
Trains
There are one or two trains every day from Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor (the main train station in Zagreb). Trains take either 6 hours 35 minutes or 8 hours 31 minutes depending on which train you take – the latter service is an overnight train. The Die Bahn website is great for train timetables, whilst you can buy tickets from the Croatia Railways website.
Buses
There are also many, many buses per day from Zagreb and elsewhere in Croatia to Split. See the Zagreb Bus Terminal website or the Split Bus Terminal website for timetable details.
Ferries and catamarans
Numerous catamarans and ferries connect Split with the nearby Adriatic islands (Hvar, Brac, Vis, Korcula and so on) – many of these services are run by Jadrolinija.
Additionally:
- Kapetan Luka operates a catamaran service to Split from Hvar and Korcula
- TP Line runs a service from Hvar
- Bura Line runs a service from Slatine and Trogir to Split
- Krilo S hipping Company lines to Rogac on Solta and Bol, Milna and Sutivan on Brac

Those travelling up (or down the coast) may well make use of Kapetan Luka‘s catamaran service that runs Dubrovnik – Mljet – Korcula – Hvar Town – Milna (Brac) to Split and vice versa. This catamaran runs daily from April to October.
Kapetan Luka also have another service running Dubrovnik – Mljet – Korcula – Makarska – Bol (Brac) – Split and vice versa, operating daily June to September.
TP Line also operates a coastal catamaran to Split from Dubrovnik via Pomena (Mljet) – Korcula Town – Hvar Town – Milna (Brac).
Finally, Jadrolinija also has a coastal catamaran from Dubrovnik – Korcula – Hvar Town – Bol (Brac) to Split, operating daily from mid-June to the end of September.
