Here are some photos of Vis, the island furthest away from the Croatian mainland. With a fascinating history – including an important role during World War II, and being closed to international visitors up until the late 1980s – there are some rather fascinating things to see on the island along with some very pretty coastal towns. Because of its size, it also lends itself to exploring by bike or moped, which is how some of the photos below were taken! Take in the sights of Vis Town and Komiza, the two main towns on the island, plus some of what you can see ‘inland’ on the island too.
